These beautiful timber horses pay homage to the heritage Marwari horse that was introduced to Jodhpur, Rajasthan, in the 12th Century. Horse statues, busts and carvings such as this were often seen in pairs, each placed pointing towards its counterpart on either side of an entryway of the traditional homes of Rajasthan. These particular pieces, however, may have formed part of the frame of a door or gate of an Indian haveli, but have since been salvaged. At over 80 years old, these charming vintage pieces have been lovingly restored and mounted on a stand as a decorative accent for your home.
