Almirahs, both big and small, were a staple piece in almost all Indian households. Found in a beachside town in Gujarat, this piece is over 50 years old. It may have been used to house fresh produce, seasonal grain or piles of folded kantha. It was handcrafted from solid teak, and has since been polished in a natural wax to protect its original paintwork.
