To the east of the Taihang mountains sits China’s coastal province of Shandong and it was there that we salvaged this striking stone basin. Over 70 years ago it was a water trough for the livestock living on Shandong’s thriving farmland. It boasts a beautiful timeworn texture that is unparalleled by contemporary designs, which is precisely why we love it so much. We think it would look beautiful in a bathroom, either indoors or out, resting atop an antique vanity. Try pairing it with contrasting textures like warm, raw timber and brushed brass tapware.
