Tara and I just got back from another trip to India we found so much great stuff! We really lashed out this time. I love that it’s all pretty much one-off pieces – each one unique. I think we need a bigger store though, we have quite a lot coming. quite a few iron and industrial style pieces along with a funky new duck egg colour in the Tolix chair as well as a patterned version in antique white that looks amazing. We’ve had a lot positive feedback and inquiries about architectural elements such as the columns, gates and doors, so we have invested in a couple more sets of columns, two amazing sets of entry doors that I am not sure how we will lift out of the container as well varying sizes in gates. We went crazy on one-off mirrors made from old Indian doors and windows – these have to be seen to be believed and the prices will be extremely affordable. More of the reclaimed furniture with ink blocks and old doors in beautiful tones etc. We will have plenty of variety in these of all shapes and sizes. Our kantha range of chairs has been added to and we’ve created a new style as well which will come in a natural linen/kantha combo! We have also created a bedhead upholstered in Kantha as well as some amazing carved timber ceiling panels that can be used a bedheads.
There is so much coming, trying to remember everything is impossible. The one-off tile mirrors we have in store now which are fast disappearing will make another appearance in this shipment as well as a few rocking horses, old fans, columns turned into candle bases, huge marble food trays and bowls, clocks, wooden ornaments and treasures, textiles, Indian Brass milk cans, teak pots, bowls and trays of all sizes, maps, brass drinking cups and beautiful handcrafted daybeds….too much.
I have popped in a few photos – please excuse the bad light and cramped spaces, all these pieces will come to life again when they get home.
Shopping in India is always very testing, but trolling through old one-offs and unique pieces is a dream job for us. I love anything that has a history and Can’t wait to show it all off. Our warehouse stock is building nicely and hopefully in time we will open that for the public as well – no point having beautiful things hidden in a warehouse waiting for a home.
